Cabinetry

Locally built custom cabinets in a wide range of styles and finishes

Cabinets are the biggest single decision in a kitchen, and a lot of what decides whether the room works for the next twenty years. We design the layout and have it built by a local cabinetmaker, so your cabinets can be made for your room instead of ordered in whatever sizes a catalog offers.

More than one layout

We usually draw a few versions of your space — different ways to arrange the room, where things go, how they open, what happens in the corners. You see them together at your design session in the studio and choose the one that gets built.

How it's built

The boxes are all plywood. Details depend on the room, since what works in one house doesn't in the next, but where a space allows for it cabinets can be built as one continuous run rather than separate boxes set side by side.

Soft-close doors and drawers are standard, not an upgrade.

Doors and finishes

There's a wide range of door styles and finishes, and everything is built to your selection rather than pulled from stock. If you've seen a door or a color you like, bring it in.

Inside the cabinets

Almost anything is available — pull-outs, dedicated storage, drawer setups, how each cabinet is divided inside. Tell us how you use the room and we'll show you what's possible.

Who does what

Usually we measure, your contractor checks the measurements in the space, the cabinetmaker builds, and your contractor installs.

Built nearby

Our cabinets are made close to the studio, which tends to make questions during a build easier to sort out than they'd be with a plant several states away.

Hardware

Knobs, pulls, and hinges are chosen separately, along with your other finishes.
